LIKEME Lighthouse® was opened, operated and fully funded by the LIKEME® Organization, a 501-c(3) charity founded in 2010 by Chely Wright, country music artist, to provide education, resources and support to LGBT individuals, and their families and friends. LIKEME®’s LGBT Center in Kansas City provided a safe and welcoming place for the area LGBT community to meet and work together to promote equality. In 2017, a separate organization took over the Kansas City location. LIKEME(r) is now supporting other LGBT charities in the Midwest and we look forward to opening another LIKEME Lighthouse(r) in the future.
